Donations received during the year totalled $1,078,913 from 140 donors. Monarca has contracts for service delivery with the following charitable organizations in the Los Cabos region of Mexico all of which provide essential support services for impoverished children or adults:
Building Baja Future – Scholarships for university education.
Casa de Abuelos de San Miguel – Lunches for senior citizens at a drop-in centre.
Casa Hogar – Residential foster home care for children who are wards of the state.
ComuniCabo – Speech therapy for children following surgery for cleft lips or cleft palates.
Boys and Girls Club – Youth development programmes for children aged 10 to 17.
Los Cabos Children’s Foundation – Equipment for oncology, intensive care and heart treatment for children.
Sarahuaro – Training, life skills and English language education for destitute mothers and a lunch programme for children at a primary school.
Cabo Church – Meals for Cabo children
Our donors are encouraged to specify the programme that they wish to support and we disburse the funds accordingly. Disbursements are dependent on invoices being submitted by our partners as specified in our contracts.
Monarca’s continued support of these much-needed programmes is entirely dependant on the continued generosity of Canadians.
Our annual overhead costs are minimal (approximately 2% of donations received). Monarca has no paid staff.
Our Board of Directors continue Monarca’s commitment to the needs of the people of Los Cabos and we thank all of our donors for their ongoing generosity.
On behalf of the Board of Directors
